Introduction to PVOC certification
1) According to the Kenyan government decree, your company's importer must obtain the "Product Certificate of Conformity" (COC, or "CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMITY") for customs clearance with Kenyan Customs. Upon completion of the inspection, the original COC certificate will be sent by courier to the exporter. For direct mail to importers or other persons, please specify in the remarks column of this application form.
2) Please truthfully, correctly and completely fill in this application form and its appendix, including the relevant HS code, ICS code and other information. It is the applicant's basic responsibility to properly declare the description of the goods and the HS code. Failure to properly declare the product description and / or HS code will result in on-site inspection / testing discrepancies that preclude the issuance of COCs. The applicant will still bear the costs and leave a bad credit record. Once the goods have been shipped to Kenya, Kenya's management will require rectification and fines.
PVOC certification application method
There are three ways to get PVoC certification:
Method a): Each batch of goods inspection and testing
The exporter contacts the PVoC office in the country of origin, submits the completed RFP and the invoice for the consignment, or submits the Declaration of Importation (IDF) by the Kenyan importer and forms a copy of the invoice to initiate the PVoC process.
The PVoC office inspects the goods to see if they meet the requirements of Kenyan Standards / Technical Specifications and samples are taken for testing. If the test results are satisfactory, a CoC certificate will be issued based on the final invoice for the goods provided by the importer (for air transport, Formal invoice issued certificate).
The CoC certificate of method a) is valid for 90 days and is valid only for the goods in that batch.

Method b): product registration, inspection and limited testing
If the same kind of product is exported to Kenya many times, it is recommended to use the method b). Exporters register with PVoC and the Licensing / Certification Center submits a self-declaration that the product meets Kenya's standards / specifications or international standards, as well as product test reports issued by laboratories accredited to ISO / IEC standards. PVoC registration, licensing / certification center to review the documents submitted by exporters, if found problems, will require rectification.
